Municipalities in Quebec that accept our Go-Box

The most frequently asked question: does my municipality allow the installation of a Go-Box?

Offering a flexible and economical alternative to traditional houses, our Go-Box can be installed :

  1. On land already occupied by a main building, often in the form of an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) or as a garden pavilion/shed;
  2. On a vacant lot, respecting the minimum surface area required by the municipality;
  3. As part of a rental project (camping, leased land, etc.).

However, each municipality has its own regulations, so it’s crucial to check whether they allow this type of installation before proceeding.

Which municipalities accept our Go-Box as accessory dwelling units?

Some Quebec municipalities have already passed by-laws allowing the installation of units like Go-Box. Here is a non-exhaustive list:

Municipalities that allow ADU Go-Box :

It’s essential to check the regulations of the municipality where you wish to install your Go-Box, as acceptance of the installation often depends on certain conditions, such as the size of the plot, the aesthetics of the unit and compliance with local building standards.

Garden pavilion and shed

When it comes to garden pavilions for offices, workshops or sheds, all you have to do is check the maximum surface area allowed by your municipality. In general, municipalities accept sheds of up to 20 m² (215 ft²), which is perfect for our 10 x 14 models (Office Pod) and 10 x 20 (Office-Shed).

Which municipalities accept our Go-Box as the main unit on a vacant lot?

More than 120 municipalities in Quebec authorize homes smaller than 65 m² (700 ft²), ideal for one or two Go-Box. This type of housing is often accepted in residential or rural areas, due to its low visual and environmental impact.
